TACACS(Terminal Access Controller Access Control System)

An access control protocol used to authenticate a user logging onto the network. TACACS(Terminal Access Controller Access Control System) is a simple username/password system. Extended TACACS(Terminal Access Controller Access Control System)+ adds encryption and a challenge/response option. See challenge/response.
