built-in font

A printer font encoded permanently in the printer’s read-only memory (ROM). All laser printers offer at least one built-in fonts, including (at the minimum) a Roman-style serif font such as Times Roman or Dutch and an attractive clean sans serif font such as Helvetica or Swiss. PostScript-compatible laser printers have a nice range of built-in fonts from Adobe Systems, Inc. These fonts include Avant Garde, Bookman, New Century Schoolbook, Palatino, and Zapf Chancery.
