DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol)

Software included in Windows NT and 95 that assigns IP addresses (TCP/IP) to stations in the network. The assignments are made by the DHCP server software that runs under Windows NT Server. A Windows 95 client calls the server to obtain the address. See WINS.
