A paper feed mechanism that feeds separate sheets of paper into the printer, where a friction feed mechanism draws the paper through the printer. You can purchase cut sheet feeding mechanisms as optional accessories for dotmatrix and letter quality printers, but they are standard equipment with laser printers and high quality inkjet printers.
