Windows XP

An upgraded client version of Windows 2000, Microsoft released XP in 2001. It provides a multitude of changes including new Start menu, Taskbar and control panels, plus enhancements including Internet Explorer 6, improved connection sharing and a built-in firewall. It also massively improves support for playing games, digital photography, instant messaging and wireless networking. The Home Edition is designed for the consumer, while XP Professional is aimed at the office worker, with added security and administrative options.
