Windows 98

Microsoft’s update on Windows 95. At the time, it supported many new technologies including FAT32, multimedia extensions (MMX), universal serial bus (USB), Advanced Configuration and Power Interface, Accelerated Graphics Port, and of course, DVD. However, the most obvious new feature of Win98 was the Active Desktop, which integrated the Web browser, Internet Explorer, with the operating system.
