(1) The “next” high-capacity floppy disk. The Zip and LS-120 disks are likely candidates. in the early 1990s, the Floptical was the super floppy drive for a while, but it did not catch on.

(2) An earlier 3.5″floppy disk introduced by IBM that held 2.88MB. The drives were compatible with standard floppies, but it was not widely used.
