SPEC (SPECfp95, SPECint95, SPECmark) (Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation, Manassas, VA, www.specbench.org)

An organization founded in 1988 to establish standard benchmarks for computers. Its first benchmark was the SPECmark, in which one SPECmark was equivalent in performance to a VAX 11/780.
Subsequent SPECint and SPECfp benchmarks measured integer and floating point performance respectively. In 1996, SPEC introduced SPEC CPU95 which includes SPECint95 and SPECfp95, replacing SPECint92 and SPECfp92.
