In presentation graphics, a graph that displays a data series as a circle to emphasize the relative contribution of each data item to the whole. Each slice of the pie appears in a distinctive pattern, which can produce Moire distortions if you juxtapose too man patterns. Some programs can produce paired pie graphs that display two data series. For presentations, exploding a slice from the whole is a useful technique to add emphasis.
