Object Packager

In Microsoft Windows, an accessory that transforms a document into an icon, which you can then insert within another document (even one created by another compatible application) as a linked or embedded object. (To package documents this way, both applications must be compatible with Microsoft’s object linking and embedding, or OIE, specifications.) When the reader of this document doubleclicks the icon, Windows starts the application that created the embedded document and displays the document in a new window, Using Object Packager, you can embed a spreadsheet as an icon in a word processing document, with a note such as, “Jan, just doubleclick this icon to see our Excel worksheet showing the Fall Quarter figures 1 told you about.”
