NSFnet

A widearea network developed by the Office of Advanced Scientific Computing at the National Science Foundation (NSF). NSFnet was developed to take over the civillian function of the U.S. Defence Department’s ARPAnet, which, for security reasons, has been closed to public access. NSFnet provided the comminications hardware for Internet, which is fast emerging as the world’s de facto electronic mail system. See ARPAnet and Internet.

NSFnet Một mạng toàn cục do Office of Advanced Scientific Computing của National Science Foundation (Quỹ khoa học quốc giaNSF) thành lập.
