NAPLPS(North American Presentation-Level Protocol Syntax)

An ANSI standard protocol for videotex and teletext. It compresses data for transmission over narrow-bandwidth lines and requires decompression on the receiving end. PRODIGY uses this format for transmitting and displaying some of its graphics.
