MMX(Multi Media EXtensions)

Enhancements to Intel’s Pentium CPUs that allow software to perform fast multimedia (audio, video) operations that would otherwise require additional hardware. MMX adds 57 new instructions, many of which are found in digital signal processing (DSP) chips.
