MDI

(1)(Multiple Document Interface) A Windows function that allows an application to display and lets the user work with more than one document at the same time. If the application is not programmed for MDI and you want to work with multiple documents of the same type concurrently, you must load the application again for each subsequent document. Contrast with SDI.

(2)(Medium Dependent Interface) Refers to an Ethernet port connection. The MDI X port on an Ethernet hub is used to connect to a workstation (the X stands for crossing the transmit and receive lines). An MDI port (not crossed) is used to connect to the MDI X port of another hub.

(1)(Multiple Document Interface) Một chức năng của Windows vốn cho phép một trình ứng dụng hiển thị và cho phép người dùng làm việc với nhiều tài liệu cùng lúc. Nếu trình ứng dụng không được lập trình để sử dụng cho MDI và bạn muốn làm việc với nhiều tài liệu cùng loại cùng lúc, bạn phải tải trình ứng dụng lần nữa đối với mỗi tài liệu tiếp theo. Trái với SDI.

(2)(Medium Dependent Interface) Đề cập đến một nối kết cổng Ethernet. Cổng MDI X trên một trục Ethernet được sử dụng để nối kết sang một trạm làm việc (X thay thể cho việc gạch chéo các tuyến nhận và truyền). Một cổng MDI (không được gạch chéo) được sử dụng để nối kết sang cổng MDI X của một trục khác.
