MAE(Macintosh Application Environment),(Metropolitan Area Exchange)

(1) (Macintosh Application Environment) Software from Apple that allows Macintosh programs to run on UNIX workstations under the X Window system. MAE supports AppleTalk and MacTCP, allowing UNIX users to share printers, files and e-mail with other Macintosh users on the network.

(2) (Metropolitan Area Exchange) Originally known as Metropolitan Area Ethernets, MAEs are major network access points (NAPs) in the Internet. See NAP.

MAE hỗ trợ Apple Talk và MacTCP, cho phép những người dùng UNIX chia sẻ các máy in, các file và e-mail với những người dùng Macintosh khác trên mạng.
