LaserDisc

An optical disk used for full-motion video that uses the LaserVision technology developed by Philips. LaserDisc players can read the CLV format for two hours of recording(one hour per side) as well as the CAV format for a total of one hour. CAV provides direct access capability for interactive training material. Most LaserDiscs are 12 in diameter, but 8 descs are also used. Although popular for large-screen home theaters,the LaserDisc has not been widely supported, and the DVD is expected to obsolete it.

Một đĩa quang được dùng cho hình ảnh video chuyền động vốn sủ dụng công nghệ LaserVision dược phát player có thể đọc dạng CLV trong hai giờ ghi băng (một giờ một mặt) cũng như dạng thức CAV chỉ trong một giờ. CAV cung cấp khả năng truy cập trực tiếp cho chuỗi tài liệu giao tác. Hầu hết các LaserDisc có đường kính 12 inch, nhưng các đĩa 8 inch cũng được dùng. Mặc dù phổ biến bởi vởi màn hình iswn trong các rạp hát gia đình, LaserDisc đã không được hỗ trợ rộng rãi, và DVD làm nó lỗi thời.
