IMAP(Internet Messaging Access Protocol)

A standard mail server expected to be widely used on the Internet. It provides a message store that holds incoming email until users log on and download it. IMAP4 is the latest version. IMAP is more sophisticated than the Post Office Protocol(POP) mail server. Messages can be archived in folders, mailboxes can shared, and a user can access multiple mail servers.

Một mail server chuẩn được dùng phổ biến trên Internet. Nó cung cấp một chỗ lưu trữ thông tin nhằm giữ email đến cho đến khi người dùng tải IMAP4 là phiên bản mới nhất. IMAP hiện tinh vi hơn mail server Post Office Protocol(POP) các thông tin có thể được lưu trữ trong các folder các mailboxes có thể được chia sẻ và một người dùng có thể truy cập nhiều mail server.
