The world’s largest computer company. It started in New York in 1911 when the Computing TabulatingRecording Co. was created by a merger or four companies. In 1914, Thomas J.Watson, Sr., became general manager, and during the next 10 years, turned it into an international enterprise, renamed IBM in 1924.
