A future technology that records data as holograms, filling up the entire volume of a small optical cylinder. A laser is beamed through a set of LCD shutters that represent the binary pattern to be stored. Another laser is aimed to intersect the first beam at the optical material, which creates the hologram.

Một kỹ thuật tương lai vốn ghi dữ liệu dưới dạng hologram(thuật chụp ảnh tạo ra hình ảnh ba chiều khi có ánh sáng thích hợp) lấp đầy toàn bộ thể tích của một hình trụ quang học nhỏ. Một tia lase được chiếu qua một bộ ván ô(shutter) LCD vốn thay cho mẫu nhị phân để được lưu trữ. Tia lase khác được nhắm để cắt ngang tia đầu tiên tại chất liệu quang học nó tạo hologram.
