FOCUS

(1) A DBMS from Information Builders, Inc., New York, runs on PCs, mainframes and minis. It allows relational, hierarchical and network data structures and can access a variety of databases, including standard IBM mainframe files, DB2, IMS, IDMS and others. It includes a fourth- generation language and a variety of decision support facilities.

(2) (Federation On Computing in the United States, www.acm.org/focus) The U.S. representative of the International Federation of Information Processing(IFIP). FOCUS was founded in 1991 by the ACM and the IEEE Computing Society(IEEE-CS) and alternately sponsor its Secretariat.
