FM(Frequency Modulation)

(1) A transmission technique that blends the data signal into a carrier by varying(modulating) the frequency of the carrier. See modulate.

(2) An earlier magnetic disk encoding method that places clock bits encoding method that places clock bits onto the medium along with the data bits. It has been superseded by MFM and RLL.
