FireWire

A serial bus developed by Apple and Texas Instruments that allows for the connection of up to 63 devices. FireWire bandwidth is from 100 to 400 Mbits/sec. Also known as the IEEE 1394 standard, FireWire is expected to become an alternative to SCSI, providing a single plug and play interface technology for all peripheral devices, including printers.
