EPS(Encapsulated Post-Script)

A PostScript file format used to transfer a graphic image between applications. EPS files contain PostScript code and an optional preview image in TIFF, WMF or PICT format. The preview is used to scale the image on screen. Adobe Illustrator has its own variation of the EPS format. See PostScript.
