A bbreviated “DTP.” Using a personal computer to produce highquality printed output or cameraready output for commercial printing. It requires a desktop publishing program, highspeed personal computer, large monitor and a laser printer. Since DTP has dramatically brought down the cost of highend page makeup, it is often thought of as “the” way to produce inhouse newsletters and brochures. However, creating quality material takes experience. Desktop publishing is no substitute for a graphics designer who khows which fonts to use and how to lay out the page artistically.
