(1) Numbers stored in pure binary form in contrast with BCD form. See binary numbers. (2) Information stored in a binary coded form, such as data, text, images, voice and video. See binary file and binary field. (3) A file transfer mode that transmits any type of file without loss of data. (4) A non-text file that has its data reduced to binary coding, e.g. sound files.
