In personal computing, the adjustment of toler-ances within a disk drive’s mechanism so that read/write operations occur without error. In word processing the horizontal arrangement of lines on the page with respect to the left and right margins (flush left, centered, flush right, or justified). Because a jolt can knock a floppy disk drive out of alignment, be careful not to drop or knock your computer around when moving the machine. A drive that is slightly out of alignment may have trouble reading floppy disks, espe-cially those formatted by a different computer. If your machine cannot read an important floppy disk, don’t assume that the disk is bad－possibly another computer can read the disk.
