AFIPS(American Federation of Information Processing Societies Inc.)

An organization founded in 1961 dedicated to advacing information processing in the U.S. It was the U.S. representative of IFIP and umbrella for 11 membership societies. It was dissolved in 1990 and superseded by FOCUS.
