Active Desktop

A version of the Windows desktop for Windows 95 and NT that integrates Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. Users access local files and the Web using the same interface. In addition, for users permanently attached to the Internet, Active Desktop can continuously display Web pages in the bacck ground; for example, news and stock market data.
