BSD UNIX(Berkeley Software Distribution UNIX)

A version of UNIX developed by the Computer Systems Research Group of the University of California at Berkeley from 1979 to 1993. BSD enhancements, known as the “Berkeley Extensions,” include networking, virtual memory, task switching and large file names (up to 255 chars). BSD’s UNIX was distributed free, with a charge only for the media.
