key disk

A computer software protection scheme that requires the user to insert a specially encoded floppy disk before the program will start. This is intended to prevent the recipients of illegal copies of the program from running the program on their machines. Reject any program that employs a key disk copy-protection scheme. IAlthough software piracy is a serious problem and the overreaction of software publishers is understand-able,key disks penalize legitimate users. If the disk becomes unusable for any reason (and floppy disks fail frequently), the legitimate owners of the program will not be able to gain access to the program until a duplicate copy of the key disk is obtained from the software publisher and that might take two weeks.

Một cách bảo vệ phần mềm máy tính, yêu cầu bạn phải đút một đĩa mềm đã được mã hóa đặc biệt vào ổ đĩa thì chương trính mới khỏi chạy đươc. Phương pháp đề phòng này nhằm trừng phạt những người sủ dụng phần mềm của người khác một cách bất họp pháp.
